Thorne Comparison about Boys and Girls
Thorne (1993) found a number of differences in the way boys and girls interact with their same sex friends. First, girls engage in more cooperative kinds of play, for example, jumping rope or practicing dance steps together. Girls also tend to say “Let …” or “why don’t we…” to generate this play. Girls like to spend time with only one or two best friend. Girls talk about the undesirable behavior of playmates behind their backs rather than to their faces. As a result, a conflict between girls can take a long time to be resolved. In contrast boys engage in competitive rough-and-tumble play and physical fighting. Boys also like to appear tough by making verbal threats for example “I’m going to punch you; boys tend more to hang around with a larger group of casual friend. Boys, on the other hand are more direct, and confrontational, so their conflicts are often over quite quickly.
Boys and Girls in my Country Comparison
There are many differences in the way teenage boys and girls socialize in my country Haiti. First, when girls wake up earlier in the morning, they wash his face, and begin to do chores. Girls wash the dishes, and sweep the house and the yard. Also they sprinkle water on the floors to eliminate dust when they finish, they make beds, clean the table; make foods, and everything else that needs to be done around the house. Girls frequently teamed more freely with girls. When they meet, they discuss about their date with their boyfriends or talk about other girls in their backs. They like listening to sentimental music, jumping rope, and dancing. On the other hand boys wake up in the morning wash his face and walk to the garden’s family. Arrive they will untie animals, for example cow, mules, and lead them to a water source or river. After they are also responsible to cut grass and bring it to the animals. They may harvest fruits or grains. Boys use to meet regularly to discuss and study certain school subject or about girls and sex. They like playing video game, washing and playing soccer, and playing domino. Teenagers in my country are raised in different ways like teenagers in other countries.
Information about my classmates
Everyone in this world have different goals in life. My classmate Edith wants to study nursing because it is an interesting field. Such as she wants to get more knowledge and enjoy her times studying. After all she is going to continue her education because it is important to complete his degree .When she was in high school her favorite subjects were biology, chemistry and physics. On the other hand my classmate Lin wants to study accounting because it is easy to find a job with this major. Her main goal is to continue her studies, and then if she has time she will go to a part time job. She told me she will continue to study after she gets his associates degree. Finally, math was her favorite subject when she was in high school. Both Edith and Lin have a goal and they want to continue their studies, but they have chosen different majors. Edith wants to be a nurse and Lin wants to be an accountant. I think both have ambition and they will realize their goal and become excellent workers in their fields.

“Panic Existing in the World”
Panic is the worst thing that exists in the world. It is a sudden feeling of terror. When people are in panic they cannot control themselves, they try to save their lives without thinking and without checking the source of their fears. Some fiction and nonfiction movies explain the fury, the irrational behavior of people when they are in panic. First, I am going to talk about “boats sinking at sea,” and how people react. Secondly, I will explain a movie about “fires breaking out in a tall office building.” Third am going to talk about” hurricanes destroying people’s homes.” Two of these examples are based on movies about panic, and one is about my experience.
Watching a panic movie can make you scared and anxious about what will happen. One example is the movie called “Titanic”. The Titanic was a tremendous ship that people used to take to the United States. A lot of people rich and poor wanted to travel. Rich people received more attention than poor. The rich people occupied the top, the better place, and the poor stayed below. The first time I watched this movie I cried because the ship sank at the sea. The ship hit a huge iceberg. The captain didn’t want to explain to the passengers what had happened. When people heard about that they panicked, they began to scream, and ran. A lot of men disappeared in this tremendous ocean. I put myself in the reality; if I was in a ship like Titanic, what would be my reaction? I remember I went to Labady in my country at Cap Haitian in an attractive beach with my coworkers and colleagues. I was afraid and panicked when we took a yacht to visit the island. There were some teenagers on the yacht who refused to pay. We were in the middle of the sea; there were no trees, only water. The man who maneuvered the yacht turned it off and asked the groups to pay. They told the man that my coworker was going to pay for them. We stayed five minutes there. The yacht pitched right and left. The water was not clear because of the depth. I was cold and nervous. When they decided to pay the man tried to start the engine, but it could not start. I was frightened; I thought I was going to die that day. I began to pray. He tried many times. When the engine finally started, it reduced my fear. I was happy, and I said to myself I will never take a trip on boat again.
Secondly, Fire destroying people’s homes is another one of the worst fears existing in reality that people cannot control. In the movie “Outsiders”, there were two groups, one rich and one poor. They fight when they meet. One day one of the teenagers in the rich group died, and the person who killed him escaped to a mountain and found a church to live in. The poor group slept a few days in the church. One day one of them the poor came to see the other and invited them the boys who escape to a restaurant to eat. Before they went to the restaurant they talked, smoked so they threw the cigarette on the floor. This day, there was a group of children with their teachers who came to a picnic. Four of them entered the church and it began to burn. One of the teachers who tried to find the missing children began to yell and scream. I was frightened and anxious to see what will happen to the children. I put myself in the movie. If I were one of the teachers, what would I have done? In the end the poor group boys returned and entered the church to save the children. However, one of them died because he had a third degree burn.
Finally, the hurricanes destroying people’s homes are the third fear that could cause people to panic. For example, tornadoes are destructive forces of nature that result in injuries and death. Many of them form spontaneously and give no warning to people in the community. I have seen many movies about tornadoes. When they appear people were run, and try to save their lives looking for shelter. Wind began to attack farms, drop tree limbs and take people away. I was very sad. I thought that could happen for real because tornadoes exist.
To conclude, panic is uncontrollable and spontaneous. It is a fear that many people cannot control because it happens suddenly. It makes people frightened. In the movies above, people are frightened because they think about death, they try to save their lives and they make other people scared. I think such films are popular because they are based on reality. They show how people react in the real life when they are in panic.

Dear Jasmine
How are you? How is everyone? I hope everything is going well for you in your life. October 29 was a horrible day for all in the United States because the Hurricane Sandy has been ravaged some areas in this country. According to the New York Times and ABC TV I saw and heard how that mammoth storm picked up speed and roared over the Atlantic. Sandy battered the mid- Atlantic region on Oct 29, 30 with powerful gusts. That storm caused once in a generation flooding in coastal communities of New Jersey, New York and Connecticut. First, a lot of trees fell down. Secondly, it left more than eight million people in the dark. Third, an explosion caused an extremely hot fire and there was a lot of flooding.
Trees are very important in our live, they provide us oxygen, but some of them are very dangerous depending on their position. Two boys, an 11-year- old little league star and 13- year-old friend, were killed when a 90 foot- tall tree smashed into the family room of a house in North Salem, NY. In total, 7000 trees were knocked down in the city. People need to plant another trees in a good position that way, if we have this mammoth storm again, they will be safe.
Power is the most powerful needs in the world, especially in the United States. When an area doesn’t have power and has a lot of business, market thief going to rob them. They will profit this time to take whatever they find because it is dark; there is no power so the alarm would not work. The lower part of Manhattan and 90 percent of Long Island were in dark.
Fire is the worst thing that exists in this world. It’s true we use it for cooking, but people are not safe with it. The Government tried to evacuated some residents who lived in dangerous places. Many of them did not evacuated because they thought that the Hurricane would not be huge or affect them. Those people are very foolish because they want to move the area they want to stay to protect their houses and boats. A rampaging fire reduced more than 100 houses to ash in Breezy Point, Queens. Those people are safe, but they lose their houses and important documents. The NY subway has been suffered the worst damage. Water reached the ceiling of the South Ferry subway station. The seven subway tunnels between Manhattan and Brooklyn were flooded. The storm left a lot of damages.
In conclusion, life will be worse in NYC because of the storm. The losses from Hurricane Sandy will approach $ 50 billion according to the economists at Moody’s Analytics. I wasn’t affected, but my father’s work has been destroyed. The storm was blamed for more than 70 deaths in United States, houses were reduced to ash, and there wasno power, and no transportation. Houses and subways were flooded. I think the government will work hard and take their responsibilities to repair the damage, I hope to read a letter from you soon. Say hello to your family. God bless you big kiss.
